Software By Design's Custom Authorization Utility provides Cognos clients the ability to tie user permissioning to alternate entitlements sources not possible with the current Cognos release. Presently Cognos software allows clients the ability to tie into many main stream enterprise entitlements systems like Active Directory, LDAP and Site Minder but does not allow for hooks into home grown or other 3rd party security solutions. Our authorization and entitlements solution allows companies to leverage and wide variety of other systems. This provides clients the ability to leverage these systems and minimize the need for creating and supporting alternative security models within their organization.
